IQNA – A Yemeni university professor said the Iranian “Operation True Promise” against Israel was much more than a retaliatory attack.

Yemeni university professor Sayyid Ibrahim al-Shami speaking to IQNA

Speaking to IQNA, Sayyid Ibrahim al-Shami said the operation was a heroic and glorious step taken by the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region and the world.

He said it marked a major event and a historical development in the course of the Palestinian-Zionist regime confrontation.

Al-Shami noted that the attack was unprecedented in the history of the fake Israeli regime, a regime that has grown accustomed to insolence, haughtiness, and knowing no red lines and has been supported militarily and politically by the world arrogance, especially the United States.

He said if one wants to point out the greatest achievement of the Iranian operation, it would be the shattering of the image of power of invincibility that the Zionist regime sought to project.

The operation was the beginning of a new phase of the collapse of the Zionist regime, the scholar, who is also a prayer leader in a Sana’a neighborhood, went on to say.

Today, he added, the axis of resistance, from the Islamic Republic of Iran to Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria, seems to be far stronger than before.

The Israeli regime launched a deadly attack on April 1 against the Islamic Republic’s diplomatic premises in the Syrian capital Damascus.

The Israeli attack resulted in the martyrdom of Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), his deputy, General Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, and five of their accompanying officers.

In retaliation, the IRGC targeted the occupied territories late on Saturday with a barrage of drones and missiles. The retaliatory strikes, dubbed Operation True Promise, inflicted damage on Israeli military bases across the occupied territories.
